Toowoomba Carnival

Flowers, Food and Fun are on the agenda at Toowoomba’s premier spring and garden event, The Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers from 1 to 30 September 2022.

The festival is a must-do for avid gardeners, those who simply appreciate the beauty and perfection of flowers as well as newbies who want to learn more and be inspired by just what is possible in the world of gardening. You could say there is something for everyone at the Toowoomba Carnival of flowers.

This year marks the 73rd year of the festival and this year’s program continues to spark imaginations, and satisfy the senses. Across the month-long celebrations in Queenslands’ Darling Downs, some of the standout activities include:

Grand Central Floral Parade

Held on Saturday 17 September from 10:00-12:00, the Grand Central Floral Parade is one of the landmark and centrepiece activities of the festival.MO
Cinema Under The Stars

Throw down a picnic blanket, open a basket of food and get ready to watch a movie under the stars for a twilight movie screening.

Teddy Bears Picnic
Here’s one for the kids and the young at heart. Head to Toowoomba’s Picnic Point, bring along your favourite toy bear (we’ve all got one, right) and along with Tambo Teddies join in a picnic to remember.

The inaugural Teddie Bears Picnic will include all-day interactive games, colouring-in and roving kids entertainment and food stalls. All teddies are invited to be in the fashion parade.

Night Garden
Queens Park Botanic Garden will light up for a Night Garden display of light installations and illuminations of colour each night from 6pm – 8:30pm for the 30 days of the Festival from Thursday 1 – Friday 30 September 2022

As well, as arts and crafts, music, tours, sideshow alley, farmers markets, historical tours and so much more. Head to the Festival website here to view the full program.

Oh, and pooches are welcome to attend the Petals and Pups events and other pet-friendly places and events.

Where is it?

Toowoomba is located in the Darling Downs region (The Downs) of Queensland, 123 kilometres west of Brisbane. It is the second most populated inland city in Australia after Canberra and among the largest regional centres in Queensland.

So be sure to visit the Carnival and see for yourself why Toowoomba is named the Garden City.
